macOS Permissions

Some Enconvo features need access that macOS asks you to approve, such as seeing your screen or typing into other apps. Settings → Permissions lists each permission, what it powers, and whether it’s granted. Text chat needs none of them, so grant each one when you start using a feature that needs it.

Grant a permission

Open Settings → Permissions.
Find the permission and click Grant.
macOS shows its prompt, or opens the matching pane in System Settings → Privacy & Security. For Accessibility and Input Monitoring, turn on Enconvo’s switch in that pane yourself.
If macOS asks you to, quit and reopen Enconvo.
Back in Enconvo, the row shows Granted. Try the feature again.

The page checks again on its own when you come back to it. Click Refresh to check right away.

What each permission is for

Permission	Used for
Accessibility	Reading app interfaces, clicking, typing, and window control: Computer Use, PopBar, selected text, and inserting text
Screen Recording	Screenshots that let agents see app content: Computer Use, Appshots, screen context, and OCR captures. macOS may call it Screen & System Audio Recording, and it also covers system-audio capture.
Input Monitoring	Global keyboard input for PopBar, hotkeys, and double-modifier triggers while other apps are in front
Microphone	Dictation, Voice Command, Voice Note, meeting recording, live captioning, and Live Talk
Notifications	A macOS notification when an Agent session finishes or needs your attention
Camera	Live camera photos from the SmartBar camera toggle
Location	Local weather in the Dynamic Island, and location context for agents
Automation	Controlling other apps with Apple Events: reading browser tabs, Finder selections, Mail, Messages, and System Events
Local Network	Connecting to model servers on another computer in your network. It isn’t on the Permissions page; find it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.

Troubleshooting

Problem	What to do
A permission is on, but capture still fails	Quit and reopen Enconvo, then try again. Make sure you turned on the Enconvo app you’re running, not an older copy.
Dictation shows text but doesn’t insert it	Check Accessibility, and check that the target field accepts typing or paste.
A hotkey works only inside Enconvo	Check Input Monitoring and Accessibility. See Keyboard Shortcuts for hotkeys that clash with other apps.
A model server on another computer doesn’t connect	Check Local Network, and check that the server listens on its network address.
No banner when an Agent finishes	Check Notifications here, macOS Focus, and Send a system notification in Notifications.
